What To Expect

What to expect when you go on a jubilee holiday?

A typical day

A typical day at Jubilee Holidays would start with breakfast, unless you have taken advantage of the Dawn Raiders early morning walk, jog or games!

Breakfast will include cereals and toast as well as different aspects of a cooked breakfast each day, oh yeah don’t forget the waffles!! Straight after breakfast will be our short AWAKE time which is a front led time together including welcome and information for the day, family fun Christian activities and games. Mid-morning there will be different activities for families to choose to do, be it a walk to the castle, craft or family activities.

Lunch will be served together followed by afternoon activities which may include a water game, movie making and a trip to the local area.
Inspired from countries around the world our evening meals will be the talk of the camp.  Early evenings we will have our very own Jubilee family nights ranging from games nights to Jubilee’s got talent, you are going to be entertained!

Lastly, the highlight of the day must be the Jubilee bonfire depending on the weather, where we will sit round together, sing songs, tell stories and eat s’mores.

AND on one of the days watch out for our surprise day out!

The venue

On the site is the main meeting/eating area, lounges, a games room, a play park, an animal enclosure, a prayer barn, a bonfire area and a lovely old fashioned telephone box.

The journey to a jubilee holiday

You may prefer to drive yourself or subject to availability we may organise a lift by one of our designated drivers we aim for your journey to and from the Jonas centre to be as stress free as possible! All you need to do is remember to organise your travel sickness medication/bands, have some creative ways to answer the question, ‘Are we nearly there yet’, and enjoy the stunning scenery on the way!

Accommodation

During your stay you will be staying in one of the Jonas Centre’s premier lodges (There are 11 in total) which comprises of an open plan living/dining area, kitchen, 2 bedrooms (Bedroom room 1 has a double bed and Bedroom room 2 has 2 single beds which can be made into a double bed), bathroom and separate toilet.  All accommodation is detached to provide privacy and your own family space yet also near to be in community with other families. Laundry facilities are also close by for a small charge.

Food

Whilst each lodge has its own kitchen area all your meals will be provided by our very own chefs.  Food is very important to Jubilee Holidays, and we believe that for the person who cooks all the meals at home they need a break too. We also believe that eating together is a really important time during the holiday.  A delicious menu will be created every mealtime and, in the evenings, meals will be provided from around the world!! (Don’t worry good old British fish and chips have been included too!) For those who are peckish, in-between meals there will be a healthy snack break in the morning and an essential ice cream break in the afternoon, not to mention a light supper around the campfire in the evening!! There is no doubt about it – You will be full .

Please note that before the holiday specific information will be sought regarding specific dietary requirements, allergies and preferences.

Activities

Now that the transport, accommodation and food is all organised all that is left to do is to relax and enjoy your holiday and we have a range of activities during the holiday designed for every family to have fun together. Be it fun activities, getting soaked during water water games finding ‘treasure ‘at Bolton castle or enjoying a surprise family day out, it is an opportunity to be a family together, for the adults to be children again and to make happy memories that will last a lifetime. It is also a great opportunity to meet and get to know other families as well as the leaders on the camp!
